Zadnji update u 1998.!
Eto dosli smo do kraja 1998. godine, no ovu godinu mozemo pamtiti kao godinu FPS-ova koji su dominirali cijelu godinu, a narocito njezin kraj, bila je to i godina kada su se proslavile 2D/3D kartice posebice Riva TNT od nVidia-e, koja je oduzela titulu najbolje 3D kartice 3Dfx-ovom Voodoo2.

No vratimo se na FPS-ove: Prvo je dosao Unreal kojeg smo jedva docekali nakon 4 godine!! izrade, i onda redom pod kraj godine SiN, Trespasser, SHOGO, Half-Life, Blood2 i Heretic2, no iz svih ovih FPS-ova istice se kao nas izbor za igru godine u polju FPS-ova Half-Life, koji nas je iznenedio nevjerojatnom interaktivnoscu, no bio je blizu za titulu igre godine i Unreal koji je zato jos uvijek nenadmasen u grafickom pogledu.

BTW. Konacno sam nabavio Office97, tako da sam obradio podatke od prosle ankete 3 koja je glasila "Koju 3D karticu imate?" (rezultate te ankete pogledajte u polju rezultati ostalig anketa), no stavio sam i novu anketu 4 od koje trazim od vas da odaberete sto mislite o planiranim player classes za Quake3: Arena-u.

Da i zelimo vam uspjesnu 1999. godinu u kojoj cemo docekati i Quake3: Arena-u :)

Q3A Preview
Na Pete's Hardware Page pojavio se dobar preview o Quake 3: Arena-i:

Q3A has the most kick-ass graphics for a 3D shooter - EVER! - yup. As you can see from the screenshots below, Q3A will represent the "next level" in 3D graphics technology. This is supported by the decision to make Q3A a hardware-only game - accommodating a software renderer as well proved too limiting. This allows iD to include features such as 24-bit textures, advanced lighting/fogging techniques and thousand-polygon player models for increased realism.

    Ispricavam se zbog nedostatka vijesti na siteu, naime u ovo blagdansko doba uopce nema vijesti, isto tako i Staff ima nekih problema tako da dok ih ne srede nece moci updateirati site sa svjezim vijestima.
    Bilo bi nam od velike pomoci oko pisanja vijesti ako bi nam vi slali vijesti, informacije itd. koje ste saznali, ili ako ste procitali neki dobar review, preview o nekoj igri, to bi nama bilo od velike pomoci u pisanju svjezih vijesti/informacija, naravno uz vijest objaviti cemo kome se zahvaljujemo na obavijesti, saljite vijesti/informacije na E-mail: micek@quake3nation.com Hvala!

    Eto jucer sam kupio/ugradio V2 tocnije Monster 3D II 12MB mogu reci samo jedno It kicks ass, It rocks... zakon... :), kada sam vidio Unreal, Half-Life, NFS3, SiN, Q2 nisam mogao vjerovati da se toliko toga moze isvuci iz V2, WOW :))

    Jos nesto odlucio sam izbaciti Moody`s V2 Game FAQ, jer vise nemamo nikakve koristi da ga mirroriramo, zbog toga jer je on sada potpuno pod VoodooExtreme, isto tako i Billy sa VE bitcha o tome da se FAQ moze dobiti samo kod njega tako da smo odlucili da ga maknemo.

    Q3A TEST
    B.Hook je najavio da cemo negdje za mjesec dana konacno moci vidjeti prvi Q3A TEST, o kojemu se ovi dana najvise govori, vec smo culi kakvi su bili prvi dojmovi onih sretnika tj. owner-a/webmaster-a "velikih" news site-ova kao sto su Blue`s i Redwood`s news, s nestrpljenjem ocekujemo prvi Q3A test, naravno vodit cemo racuna da sve informacije vi dobijete na vrijeme.

    Huh...
    Ispricavam se, naime lordlubin mi je prekopirao moj jucerasnji sa svojim danasnjim updateom, vjerojatno je zaboravio pravila koja vaze ovdje na croscene, no ne brinite dobro sam ga podsjetio na njih, nadam se da se ovakve greske vise nece ponavljati, jos jednom se ispricavam.

    Back for good
    Eto i da se ja malo javim, izbivao sam sa scene neko vrijeme jer je trebalo mojima malo vremena da omeksaju da me puste na net (3 asa u dnevniku). Uskoro cu stavit neke nove stvari na Unreal Multiplayer help(Unreal Page).Na download pageu nalazit ce se i najnoviji patch to je sve za sad Cya i Happy praznici.

    Boom... Bah...
    Nasao sam malo vremena da sredim i doradim Q1&Q2 Site-ove, kao i main page, popravio sam greske, doradio design izbornika koji su sada bolje pregledni, da i popravio sam nedostatke u designu, nadam se da ce sada ljudi prestati BiTcHati o Q1&q2 site-u, sreden je totalno, mislim da je to moj zadnji update tih siteova, naravno updateat ce se samo aktivne stranice kao q2 turnir, quake fan club itd.

    Isto tako jucer sam napisao mail odgovornima na Internet Monitoru zbog krivog navod na njihovim stranicama, tocnije na ovoj, naime objavili su potpuno krive informacije o nasem Croscene siteu, od webmastera do adrese, sada su stranice ispravljene.

    Boom...
    Kao prvo ispricavam se zbog ne updateanja vijesti preko vikenda, svi smo bili zauzeti, vjerujem da ce se za par dana sve stabilizirati dok ja dobijem puno vise slobodnog vremena, jer sada imam puno toga za napraviti tako da nemam vremena za vijesti, lorduke se ispricao, naime nije mu nekaj radilo sa HomeSiteom, akisine je valjda ziv :)) nisam se cuo s njim vec dugo, lord lubin je rekao da ce se vratiti na posao dok se srede stvari jer ima nesto losiji uspijeh u skoli od predvidenog hehe :)).

    Ja sam bio u vise navrata updateavao site sa modifikacijama designa tablica (gore) i pozadinskih boja, da i mislim da sada puno puno bolje izgleda gornji dio site-a, isto tako sam updateao Recent files listu, izvjesce sa prvog ovosezonskog q2 turnira odrzanog u Nedjelju u 22:00 cu napisati vjerojatno sutra, stay tuned.

    Unreal 220 RoCkS!!, konacno mozemo priznati da je Unreal 220 zakon, Tim i drustvo iz Epica su napravili odlican posao, eto par prvih dojmova nakon Unreal-a 220:

    Multiplayer meniji obogaceni su sa dosta novih opcija, netplay code radi savrseno i primjecuje se razlika od prijasnjeg 219. BotMach rocks botovi su potpuno obnovljeni i doradeni. Uvedena su 3 potpuno nova stila igranja. A da o novom sound-u za oruzja i ne govorimo, jednostavno savrseno. Slobodno mozemo reci da Unreal 220 rocks.

    Q3Arena rezultati
    Konacno malo vise informacija kako ce Quake Arena raditi sa danasnjim 3D akceleratorima.Vise o svemu rekao je Brian Hook u svom izvjescu:

    I finally got to run my benchmarks again with a newer build of our code that restructured quite a bit of the rendering internals. Running on a high polygon throughput map, I've broken down the scores noting fastest scores only for each and the manner in which they attained and other notes pertinent to the hardware and/or driver. Tests were run on a PII/300 w/ 96MB of RAM and AGP hardware when possible.

    RivaTNT:
    I expected a significantly greater performance difference 16bpp and 32bpp performance, but since this test is primarily throughput limited, it makes sense that the difference between the two color depths wouldn't be that large. However, I'm a little disappointed that its performance dropped by quite a bit since our last test.
    Savage3D:
    Holy cow! Phenomenal performance for this chipset, major kudos to the S3 engineers that worked on this. This is great performance, especially given that this is without multitexturing capability! The performance difference of S3TC vs. non-S3TC was actually very small, under 5%.
    Voodoo2 (beta ICD):
    Much improved performance, but it still has room to grow. 50% faster than their older ICD, so props out to the engineers that have been working on this.
    Intel i740:
    Probably the most impressive of the bunch, it pretty much has the lowest claimed numbers of ANY of the existing boards. 33% less fill rate than the Voodoo2, but it hangs in there. Shows what great drivers can do for you.
    Riva128ZX:
    Decent performance, but it should be a little faster -- at least on a par with the Intel i740's numbers, since the Riva128ZX theoretically has higher fill rate and throughput potential.
    Banshee (beta ICD):
    I'm fairly disappointed with the performance here, but it's understandable since this part lacks the MT capability of the Voodoo2 boards.

    OTHER HARDWARE:
    We have not tested the Matrox G200 (waiting on video cards, and Matrox has warned us not to expect too much from their early drivers); we didn't bother testing the V2200 since it is pretty old tech. However, the V2200 drivers are very well done.

    FUTURE HARDWARE:
    I expect the Permedia3 and ATI Rage128 to perform very well. The Voodoo3 has impressive specs, but their weak point has traditionally been their ICD performance, so hopefully when that is sorted out the V3 should kick some ass. Preliminary investigation of the ATI Rage128 is that it looks really good, posting significantly higher numbers than the above using beta drivers and pre-production hardware.

    Site update
    Napravio sam znacajne modifikacije codea tablica, tako da sada ljepse izgleda, isto tako dodao sam medu tablice sekciju "Recent Files" tu cete naci najsvjezije patcheve itd.

    Unreal 220 Patch
    Eto Tim i drustvo iz Epic-a su konacno izbacili dugoocekivani Unreal 220 Patch, koji mozete skinuti sa sluzbene stranice za patcheve ovdje, velicina patcha je 6.27MB.

    Unreal Road map
    Uz novi Unreal 220 patch, Tim je objavio sto je sljedece sto mozemo ocekivati od Unreal Patcheva:

    Unreal 220 is a public beta patch. We've done a significant amount of internal testing, but we'll be doing more wide-scale testing before the upcoming official, non-beta patch. To summarize the Unreal 1 roadmap:

    Unreal 220 (Beta): Internet improvements, core game improvements, bug fixes.
    Unreal 221 (Beta): Incremental fixes.

    QuakeCon '99
    Prije nego sto je Quake Arena izasla vec se organizira natjecanje.Vise o tom natjecanju rekla je Anna Kang iz id's software-a:

    Just wanted to send word that id Software will be sponsoring one of the greatest pastimes of the gaming community, a fragfest known as QuakeCon '99. QuakeCon '99 will feature the first official tournament for Quake III Arena in addition to the free-for-all which will include id classics. The event will also host a variety of gaming workshops with topics ranging from level design and programming to creation of mods. Making its debut, QuakeCon '99 will feature a special seminar for the female gaming community. Some of the preliminary details for QuakeCon '99 are as follows:
    Where: Dallas, TX at The Mesquite Convention Center and Exhibition Hall located within the Hampton Inn & Suites. The hotel has reserved 115 rooms at a rate of $69-$79/night available on a first come, first serve basis.
    Date: QuakeCon '99 will open its doors on August 6-8, 1999. On-site equipment registration will begin on August 5th.
    Attendance is free and limited to 1000 enthusiasts - first come, first serve. Registration is scheduled to begin on Friday, April 9th. For more information, check out the QuakeCon '99 site.

    Jago je updateao svoj nesluzbeni i do sada najbolji Q3A FAQ sa verzije 0.02 na verziju 0.2, moram spomenuti da posto mi je Jago stari frend jos od dana kada samo bili na trinity.cc-u, mi mozemo koristiti njegov FAQ za nas site, tako da updatean FAQ mozete pronaci u okviru lijevo.

    The Half-Life story
    GameSpot je objavio clanak o prici tj. stvaranju Half-Lifea ili "behind closed doors at Valve Software", napisano je dosta o Valve Software-u.

    Zbog naglog procvata prodaje u nasem Shop-u, odlucio sam totalno preurediti site, dadano je dosta novih stvari, te sam shop integrirao u sve siteove, kao sto je i vidljivo na pocetku ovog site-a.
    Ovih dana nije bilo nekih vaznijih FPS vijesti, kao ni Q3A vijesti, da i vjerujem da ce se staff probuditi i ponovno poceti kvalitetno obavljati svoj posao.

    V3 press konferencija koje je odrzana na Comdex-u mozete pogledati u Real-video formatu ovdje.

    SiN 1.01 patch released
    Konacno je izasao v1.01 patch za SiN s kojim su srecom ispravljeni svi bugovi u sinu kojih je bilo dosta od zvuka na dalje, i s kojim je sada SiN kako je i trebao biti out-of-the-box, 18.6MB patch mozete skinuti s BlueNews servera ovdje, a evo i popis stvari koje su popravljene s ovim patchom:

    - Long load times are improved.
    - Long reloads after dying are fixed.
    - Sound compatibility issues fixed..
    - Save game from a compact install now works properly.
    - Multiplayer skin showing up in red is fixed.
    - Autoplay from the CD splash screen is fixed.
    - Manumit, the subway mutant now works correctly.
    - Monster AI has been adjusted.
    - Area 57 crash bug has been fixed.
    - An animation issue with Assault Rifle and HV Chain Gun in Multiplayer has been fixed.
    - Fixed Quantum Destabilizer bug where you could vaporize a character that had an idcard.
    - Case sensitivity for Missile Silo password entry is fixed.
    - A few "wait for player" issues which could effect vehicles and some cinematics have been fixed.

    Eto jos nesto o SiNu o kojem izgleda najvise pricamo (ne kao o V3:), ovo sam vidio na Voodooextreme site-u, naime naslo se rijesenje kako maknuti .AVI intro-e na pocetku igre i staviti da vas igra cim je pokrenete dovede do Game menu ekrana, prvo otidite u BASE dir, i otvorite DEFAULT.CFG u Notepad i pronadite slijedece linije:

    Half-Life review
    Izasao je jos jedan review od izaslog Half-Lifea, ovajput review vam donosi GameSpot UK, evo jedan dio reviewa:

    The Half Life engine is a Quake engine hybrid originally licensed from Id software but having most of the Quake II-style niceties rolled in by Valve themselves. The result looks like Quake II but it's cleaner and less cluttered by gratuitous coloured lighting and bland textures ­ more to do with the implementation than the engine. The engine includes electrical sparks, shafts of light, fog and low-key light halos. This isn't pushing the barriers of 3D engines, but that was never the point of Half Life.
    Animated faces add personality to non-playing characters, especially as scientists cower in fear when shots are fired. The immaculate attention to detail is evident all over the game. Not only do the vending machines work, but baby headcrabs also appear to like breeding in them and spill out on to the floor ready for our hero's boot to crunch them.

    Voodoo3 clanak
    Izasao je jedan jako zanimljivi i dobar clanak o novo objavljenom V3 cipu od 3Dfx-a:
    Let’s face it, THE VOODOO3 IS NOT THE NEXT BIG ADVANCEMENT IN 3D TECHNOLOGY. Instead, it is simply the combination of 2D and SLI-performance-3D into a single chip. This will then allow 3Dfx to capitalize on a comparatively cheap product with a shinny new Voodoo sticker on top. This of course makes good business sense and it is true that the combination of 2D and 3D had to happen anyway, so what am I gripping about? Well I’m gripping because I now really fear for the future success of 3Dfx as a company. 3Dfx has had a couple of golden years simply due to its original chip-set being two years ahead of the competition. By just tweaking that initial technology into the V2 and now into the V3, 3Dfx has now lost that advantage. 3Dfx is not a super large corporation, and super large corporations could take this opportunity to smack 3Dfx where it hurts the most… in the 3D acceleration department, ouch !

    Quake III Arena Preview
    Ljudi iz Tech's Network su objavili preview od id's Quake III Arena-e, evo jedan zanimljivi dio:

    From utilities like Adobe Photoshop © to 3D-Studio Max © the graphics and human-like characteristics have been greatly enhanced. ID Software has used human body parts to create and edit bots and players for Quake III Arena. Each single piece is taken by themself and molded into a bigger figure. This will leave the best possible details available today. They are taking their time making sure everything is coming out properly, and not rushing like other game companies have done in the past. The real time animating editing that they go through will leave the best gaming technology available. 3D-Studio Max © is the main animating editor on an NT box, differs from the Alias © on a Silicon Graphics Machine they have used in the past. They are hoping for the best animating process to compete with other games and to blow away their somewhat clumsy previous movement.

    Napravio sam novu arhivu news-a, tako da je sada lakse i jednostavnije pregledavati arhivu, naime news arhiva je rasporedena po mjesecima u razlicite fileove, da i odsada cemo na glavnoj news stranici drzati vijesti pisane u tom mjesecu, radi lakseg stavljanja u arhivu.

    Isto tako radilo se na Unreal pageu, za koji se Lord Lubin (prijasnji Spoonman, Sodom) stvarno potrudio dotjerati site koji je jos na trinity.cc serveru, cim se dovrse poslovi na njemu, koji su vazni za funkcionalnost site ce biti premjesten na croscene poddomenu u dir.

    Carmack je govorio na Shooterima, evo u par recenica o cemu je govorio:


    Quake Arena servers will be a little more CPU hungry than Q2, acheiving greater security, among other advantages.
    Q3Test will be sooner than many people think.
    Q3 Arena will be more violent than Q2 and a little more so than Q1/QW.
    Carmack stated they were less focused on the "mood" of the game - Q3 Arena will play more like an arcade game with more input to the player(player damage, input from surroundings, etc).
    No location damage.
    A goal they have is "3 clicks to be playing on the internet" - without using outside apps like gamespy, etc. Although Gamespy may be used.
    One of Q3 Arena's goal's is to unify the Quake and Q2 gaming community. Achieving this by building on the strengths from each Quake app, and incorporating them into one app, Q3 Arena.

    Ispricavam se zbog problema sa Q3A slikama, naime nisam uspio 1.6 MB slika uplodati na spori geocities, tako da sam samo thumbnailse uspio staviti na geocities, i sredio sam linkove sada je sve direktno i otvara se u istom prozoru, Zahvaljujem se root 66 sa Quake.de za mirroriranje 1.6 MB slika.

    VoodooExtreme su objavili e-mail od Brian Hook-a o Q3A minimalnoj konfiguraciji za pokretanje Q3A:

    Right now we'd like the game to be playable on a Pentium/200MMX w/ 32MB of RAM and a Voodoo. This is a pretty common place machine, and hopefully things will be scalable enough that you can run at 512x384 with minimum detail (both geometric and texture) with a Voodoo 1 and get decent performance (although, obviously, not earth shattering).

    Table bug fix
    Ispricavam se korisnicima NC-a 4.x, naime u Subotu sam postavio novi okvir sa tablicama (ispod tablice sa anketama), u IE 4.x je sve izgledalo ok, no u NC nije, tek sam jucer vidio gresku, vjerojatno zbog kompliciranog i brojnog codea za tu linijsku tablicu sam negdje zaboravio nesto staviti, sad sam pronasao gresku, te sam odma malo iz tweekao code tako da sad u IE i NC izgleda jos bolje, jos jednom se ispricavam.
    Vjerujem da ce akisine poceti pisati vijesti negdje ovaj tjedan.

    Q3Arena igran!!!!
    Kao sto smo prije nekoliko dana posumnjali se ostvarilo.Nekolicina webmaster su pozvani u id Software da testiraju beta verziju Quake Arene. Jedan od njih je objavio na svojim stranicama svoje dojmove.Prenosimo vam u cijelosti dio koje je smio reci tj.dobio dopustenje id Software-a da ih smije objaviti:

  • The engine/effects will easily raise the graphics standard.
  • The character modeling/animation is better than anything out there.
  • Flying/bloody gibs will be back. Paul Steed has made anatomically correct body parts to fly around. WHOOP! Paul Steed said there would probably be about 12 models, which includes female models too.
  • John Carmack says there are currently 12 weapons in the game, but that may change. Too many weapons can be a bad thing imo so taking a strong look at the number is important. We only played with a portion of them but they included a pistol type gun, carbine gun, machine gun, rocket launcher, rail gun (yes, it’s still there), plasma gun (very cool effects on this one), and a bouncy weapon that has projectiles that bounce all over the place before exploding. John Carmack said at the Frag2 that currently the lightning gun is in there.
  • Some powerups (i.e. you can count on them changing as development goes on) include regeneration, quad, invisibility, haste (makes you run insanely fast), flying.
  • Simple player classes: i.e. Light player runs fast (faster than Q2, possibly Q1?) but takes more damage when hit, medium is similar to Q2 speed but takes less damage when hit, heavy is even slower but takes a lot less damage when hit. Rocket jumping height also decreases as the player gets heavier.
  • Bounceback will be somewhere in between Quake 2 and Quakeworld. You will definitely be able to knock somebody off a ledge into lava.
  • Health spheres had red 3D crosses inside glass spheres that had reflections on them (really looked like glass). Best looking mirroring around. The level with the whole ceiling mirroring the maze below is really cool looking.
  • Pretty much any type of curved surface they want to make. Gorgeous. ‘Nuf said.
  • Really cool animated skies (can be turned off for more speed).
  • Auto-rate adjustment depending on network conditions so people don’t have to be intricately familiar with console commands to get smooth netplay. This is a complicated item and is one of the big items that will be tested publicly in Q3Test. Yes there will be one, I asked John Carmack. No timeframe was given for its release.
  • Trade-offs for better connection/faster response. For example, you can make adjustments that will make instant response ala Quakeworld type networking but at the cost of reliability on poorer connections or a bit slower response ala Quake 2 but more reliable networking.
  • Invisibility was really cool looking, somewhat like an improved predator effect. Really eerie and scary when you saw a blur goes by but thought you might be seeing things then BLAM, you’re dead. :o)
  • Quad damage is really difficult to describe but is not something ever seen in a game and is very cool looking.
  • The multiplayer/net interface will be a much simpler type of GameSpy thing that is used from within the browser.
  • You are shown the name of the person you are tracking when you have your target near them. Good for hunting particularly annoying players. :o)
  • Your crosshair changes color as your health changes so you don’t have to look all the way down at the HUD if you’re in the middle of heated battle.
  • It currently tells you when you lose the lead by a voice, which I like a lot, because I don’t have to keep glancing at scores (more likely to be killed).
  • When you frag somebody, the death message flashes up in easy view. I really like this as I currently have to look up at the little text in Quake 2 to see whom I just fragged or scroll up if I missed it.
  • You have a little cool looking icon over your player head in the game if you go to the menu, console, or are chatting. That way there is no more excuse when people frag you while you’re typing. They KNOW they are doing something evil. :o)
  • Walls that “breathe” and other “alive” items like an entryway I saw with realistic fangs and a long, evil tongue hanging out on the floor. The tongue was moving and looked real! To really appreciate it, you must see it.
  • The volumetric fogging looks very realistic yet subtle. It’s not the “hey, there’s fog thrown in for eye candy”, it’s used more to give a cool atmosphere that you just can’t put your finger on.
  • John Carmack mentioned the possibility of voice over higher bandwidth networks. I’m not sure I want to hear everybody screaming bloody murder as they get fragged but maybe that’s just me. :o)

    Q3Arena i njena arhitektura
    Konacno i da docekamo prave vijesti o Quake Areni. John Carmack je konacno iznio nesto vise o QA.Donosimo vam samo najzanimljivije detalje:

    Related both issues is client side cheating. Certain cheats are easy to do if you can hack the code, so the server will need to verify which code the client is running. With multiple ported versions, it wouldn't be possible to do any binary verification.
    If we were willing to wed ourselves completely to the windows platform, we might have pushed ahead with some attempt at binary verification of dlls, but I ruled that option out. I want QuakeArena running on every platform that has hardware accelerated OpenGL and an internet connection.
    The only real solution to these problems is to use an interpreted language like Quake 1 did. I have reached the conclusion that the benefits of a standard language outweigh the benefits of a custom language for our purposes. I would not go back and extend QC, because tThat stretches the effort from simply system and interpreter design to include language design, and there is already plenty to do. I had been working under the assumption that Java was the right way to go, but recently I reached a better conclusion.
    The programming language for QuakeArena mods is interpreted ANSI C. (well, I am dropping the double data type, but otherwise it should be pretty conformant)
    ... The tools necessary for building mods will all be freely available: a modified version of LCC and a new program called q3asm. LCC is a wonderful project -- a cross platform, cross compiling ANSI C compiler done in under 20K lines of code. Anyone interested in compilers should pick up a copy of "A retargetable C compiler: design and implementation" by Fraser and Hanson.
    ... The drawback is performance. It will probably perform somewhat like QC. Most of the heavy lifting is still done in the builtin functions for path tracing and world sampling, but you could still hurt yourself by looping over tons of objects every frame. Yes, this does mean more load on servers, but I am making some improvements in other parts that I hope will balance things to about the way Q2 was on previous generation hardware.
    There is also the amusing avenue of writing hand tuned virtual assembly assembly language for critical functions...
    I think this is The Right Thing.

    Cini se da je pocela ludnica.I Sierra je objavila da dugo ocekivani FPS hit Half-Life je otisao na umnazanje. Ostaje na vama da procjenite dali je to zbog SIN-a ili zbog pritiska javnosti koja kaze da je Half-Life poslije Unrela i Q2 najiscekivanija igra ikada uradena.     Makar je tek otisao na umnazanje vec su najavljeni modovi za Half-Life.Najzanimljiviji bi mogao biti mod pod imenom Frag the Scientist. Evo sto kazu autori modu o njemu:
    Frag the Scientist- Oh sure, playing against opponents that shoot back is great, but what about fragging scientists?! In this game, players are divided into two teams: Soldiers and Scientists. The soldiers goal is to waste the scientists in the level, while the scientists goal is to make a break for the exits, and get out of the area. Sounds easy, right? The scientists are fodder, and the Soldiers will eat them alive...unless the scientists get the HEV suits on. Then it's assbeating time.

    Kao sto sam vidio na Redwood's 3d news stranicama sumnja se da su neki webmasteri igrali devlopment verziju Quake Arene. Cudno je to sto niti jedan od njih ako je to istina jos nije nista objavio.Mi cemo vas obavjestiti ako se nesto vise sazna jer ako se pokaze da je to istina konacno bi mogli vidjeti kako ce QArena izgledati.

    Eto uspjesno smo se preselili sa trinity.cc mrtvog servera na Q3N server, kao sto primjecujete ovdje imamo i vlastitu poddomenu, da ne kazem da imamo 10 puta bolje uvjete nego sto smo ih imali na trinity-u.

    Sada kada smo se uselili na novi server ocekujte svakodnevne news update, i vjerujem da ce se ona dugo ocekivana sekcija QA Game Info ubrzo dovrsiti, isto tako redesign je u potpunosti zavrsen, jos samo ocekujemo nove logoe koje radi Mx, to bi bilo sve za sada.

    Evo jos malo informacija o igrici koja trza na v2 ubrzivackoj kartici:

    This is a first-person shooter based on the Jurassic Park movies, but if you are thinking you will be able to run around killing dinosaurs, think again! Here is an excerpt from the review: ''Trespasser does include lots of different guns, all very realistically recreated, but the bulk of the game doesn't involve killing dinosaurs.     Heretic II preview
    Pete's Dragon's hardware domain su objavili preview H2, koji je zakon, ako niste skinuli demo i uvjerili se u kvalitetu H2, posebno kvalitetu Multi-playera koji je po nekima cak bolji od Q2 DM-a:

    As you can tell from the screenshots, Heretic II is viewed from the third-person perspective. What you can't tell from the screenshots is that the game is based on the Quake 2 engine. In fact, given some of the textures, and the ambiant-ness of the coloured lighting, you could be forgiven for assuming it was based on the Unreal engine.

    Na netu bi se uskoro trebao pojaviti novi Quake 2 mod nazvan Capture The King koji je baziran na likovima iz FRP avantura (patuljci, vilenjaci, carobnjaci itd.). Posto se mod tek poceo pravit potrebno je mnogo helpa, tako ako mislite da nekako mozete pomoci otidjite na stranice CTK-a i prijavite se za posao koji vam najbolje ide.

    U jucerasnjem press release-u od Sierre nasao se jedan vrlo zanimljiv dio o Half-Life-u:

    BELLEVUE, WA - October 20, 1998 - Sierra Studios announced today their upcoming 3D action thriller, Half-Life, one of the most anticipated titles of 1998, will be in stores by Thanksgiving weekend. The game will go gold later this month, and retail outlets will start seeing the game in mid-November, just in time for the busiest buying weekend of the year. Pre-orders have given the heads of corporate offices within Cendant Software all indications that Half-Life will be the biggest product launch of 1998 for the company. "Many of our retail partners are projecting that Half-Life will not only be our company's biggest release, but it will also be the software industry's biggest entertainment title of this holiday season," said Todd Coyle, senior vice president of consumer products for Cendant Software.     Blood2 Demo
    Ovako, jedan od vodecih ljudi koji radi na projektu Blood2 Brian "Scorpio" Goble updatiro je svoj .plan u kojem se prica o vrlo skorom izlasku dema Blooda 2. Nastavak jedne od najkrvolocnijih igara '97. godine iscekuju mnogi fanovi famoznih Kultista. Vise o tome procitajte na njihovim web stranicama.

    Over the weekend, I some how volunteered myself to lead the task of putting together the Blood2 demo. That's right, there will be an awesome Blood2 demo coming your way soon! Should be out early next week at the latest.
    Monolith's Jay Wilson, project lead on Blood2, also updated his .plan with some thoughts on the state of the game (which is now in beta), saying it will be gold soon, and will be out well before Thanksgiving (November 26 to those outside the U.S.). The levels are all in place. Bill, Ben, and myself are working on tweaking and adding details, and really crunching to get all the scipted cut scenes in. The levels are looking really good, with a broad variety of environments, and good atmosphere. I actually creeped myself out in one of my levels. :)

    SINed i alati za Sin demo
    Evo, i Sin Editing site pobrinuo se da se i za Sin-demo mogu slobodno kreirati nivoi, kao sto je receno, u tom skupu alata koji se nalazi u svojoj prvoj verziji, imate na raspolaganju "basic entity definition file" i par textura. Ovi alati rade samo za Sin demo.

    Pa evo da se i ja vratim nakon malo poduzeg izbivanja, zbog radi mnogo stvari . . . ali vidim da je sve ok. Ocekujte svjeze novosti na vasem omiljenom news siteu. Kako stoji, da se Daikatana sve vise eksponira ako ste sta propustili svratite na Ionstormove stranice.

    Trespasser stuff
    Gamers Central su objavili preview iz uskoro dolazeceg hita Trespasser-a, za koji je provjereno da "trza" na V2 12 MB :) eto ova igra je definitivan V2 Killer, naravno jedino nova AGP TNT 16 MB kartica se moze nositi sa Trespasserom.
    Da i Trespasser koji je vec od kada presao Gold verziju, bi se trebao naci kod nas oko October 28th, no neki glasovi mi govore da su nasi pirati igru vec dobili :)

    Hmm... dugo nismo nista culi o Daikatani, kako nam se cini iz ovog interview-a sa Rob Legg-om iz Ion Storm-a, da cekamo nesto veliko, nesto novo :), jedino je pitanje kada ce biti u potpunosti dovrsena, donosimo vam samo jedan dio iz ovog zanimljivog intervjua:

    "The sidekicks in Daikatana use a very special AI system that is separate from the monster AI system so they can appear more life-like and less bot-like.     Na VoodooExtreme sam pronasao par citata iz novog PCGamer-a u kojemu su bile objavljene prve slike iz QA:

    As for gamers without 3D cards, you may be saved by a software renderer -- but it's extremely unlikely. "If it looks like we absolutely have to do a fill-in software rasterizer, we'd actually do that as an OpenGL version with no lightmaps," says Carmack. In that case it would actually look worse than Quake II, because it wouldn't be optimized for that.

    PCGamer: In terms of the "wow" factor, what about Quake III is going to impress gamers?

    Carmack: Quake II was a hacked-up, modified version of Quake as far as rendering technology went. There was nice integration with the separate renderers, but it used the same fundamental design decisions as Quake. Quake III's rendering is a completely new design, so there are a lot more changes. In obvious terms, everything's 24-bit color graphics, the curved surfaces are the big new thing that people wouldn't have seen before. Anything you've seen in Unreal, like fog volumes or light globes -- those are good features that we're thinking of for our new technology.

    PCGamer: Aside from the Quake engine games, there aren't many GL games available. What's your take on the latest implementation of Direct3D and DirectX 6.0?

    Carmack: DirectX 6 is pretty good. They've added a lot of functionality, and it's a lot easier to use. It's still limited to the Microsoft platform, and that's something of an issue for us. We're trying to make sure we'll run on UNIX platforms, and if things go well, Macintosh.

    Prve 2 bete designa ste vec mogli vidjeti na siteu, naime prva je bila oko razmjestaja stvari itd, druga je bila oko fontova i velicine slova, a treca koju sam djelomicno stavio je oko boja, redesigniranje moram raditi postepeno zbog nedostatka vremena.

    Ispricavam se clanovima zbog problema sa dobivanjem newslettera, naime doslo je do nepoznate greske u mailing lists programu koji koristim za slanje newslettera, tako da sam morao napraviti razne metode da posaljem newsletter, prvo sam podjelio e-mail adrese u 2 liste jedna od 50 a druga od 62, tako da sam prvo uspio poslati newsletter listi sa 62, a onoj 50 nije islo, tako nakom isprobavanja i reinstaliranja programa opet sam pokusao sve zajedno poslati ali nije islo, tako da sam u nedjelju iztestirao i opet reinstalirao program i napravio po ovajput abecedi slozene adrese, tu su se vjerojatno pomjesale liste, tako da su neki dobili cca 2 - 3 kopije, neznam zasto se atachment duplicirao i poslao se u 4 kopije :(, isto tako problem je bio i u novim ogranicenjima na mail.tel.hr, tako da sam slanje morao prebaciti na trinity.cc server. Jos jednom se ispricavam, vjerujem da se ovi problemi u buducnosti nece dogadati.

    Evo javljam se nakon dugog vremena. Genesis3d prvi Hrvatski FPS ide naprijed punom snagom, mozete pogledati demo ove igre koja zahtjeva directX 6.0. Posto sam sudjelujem u izradi igre (zaduzen za skinove) mogu reci da ce uskoro izaci verzija za multiplayer.

    Doznajemo da jedna firma pod nazivom Tequila Software razvija expansion pack za Q2 nazvanog "UNSEEN". Doticna Tequila pregovara sa publisherom i oni kazu da je posao osiguran. Inace demo sadrzi jedan nivo za Q2 koji kako kazu radi na svim pcijevima na kojima se vrti Q2.

    GLDoom
    Evo da se malo odmorimo od Q2, Halflifea, Sina, Unreala i ostalih novih 3D ubrzanih igrica, i usput da se podsjetimo na stari dobri Doom. Izasao kao WinDoom, uskoro ce izaci i patch/podrska ili pak cijela verzija Dooma za 3d ubrzivacke kartice. Inace sam autor o tome kaze:

    I've had quite a few suggestions for lighting ideas. I thought you might be interested in some of them. Here's a list of some of the ones that I thought were pretty good. A headlight for the player - runs off of energy cells for the plasma and BFG diurnal (day/night) variability in the levels (including the sky - requires a linkage with sector lighting and day and night sky textures) adding "celestial" objects to the sky (complete with sidereal motion - could emit light) adding a light emission attribute to things and textures (this would be in addition to ambient lighting and would require that levels be preprocessed for lightmaps) Adding player "glow" when power-ups are active (invulnerable [green], berserk [red]) I haven't added any of these things to glDoom. Partly because I haven't had time to do them and partly because I didn't know if they would appeal to more than a couple of people.

    Evo nakon zadnjeg updatea pronasli smo i ove zanimljive recenice:
    Heretic II Demo. The week of Oct 18th I believe. I'd just like to take this opportunity to point out to the gaming fraternity in general that the important bit of that sentence is "THE WEEK OF". This demo - which I might point out I'm responsible for, on the programming side, Pat Lipo has enough to do getting the product ready to ship without worrying about the Demo too - will be released that week when we satisfied it is honed as much as can be. That does not guarantee it will be available on the 18th.. just sometime in the week following. Now we are busting our butts to make sure this *is* done for the 18th, but with the nature of testing and nasty insidious bugs cropping up, I'm sure everyone out there involved in games in virtually any capacity will recognise the need for this disclaimer. On the other hand, stuff is shaping up nicely here. We are getting regular bug reports from the testers at Activision, which we are assidiously tracking down. Death match is getting more fun (oops.. more of that aggrandisment there.. gotta watch that :)), as well as tighter. Client prediction is getting tested more rigorously, as is single game play. We ran into some problems with the A3D sound stuff, but according to Aureal, these will be dealt with on the next code drop from them. For those that are looking :- The Red Rain is back. This is a fun weapon, and looks much better in a real 3D world. The Chicken is back. Lots of fun for everyone. We are talking about implementing a super chicken too.. We'll see how that flies :) (that was a bad pun, even for me..) Maceballs return too.. two different versions of them, powered up and not so. Very tricky in deathmatch those. The Phoenix Bow also returns. Some nice eye candy there.. as well as a damn powerful weapon in the right hands. We all still have stacks of bugs to fix here, but it is coming together now.. the finished product is in sight, and the 'flavor' of the game is definitely there. I had a nose at SOF the other day. Some really nice stuff being developed there. Wonderful levels, and some nice weapon stuff shaping up. Definitely something to watch for I think. And not played for laughs either, its all in deadly ernest.

    Heretic 2 Demo
    Konacno ce i Heretic dobiti svog nasljednika: Heretic 2.Raven software i Activision obajvit ce na svojim siteovima 18.10. ove godine demo sa dva nivoa za single te 2 deathmatch arene za multiplayer igranje. U nastavku Heretica trazite spasonosni lijek protiv kuge koja je zahvatila stanovnike vaseg podneblja .... ali da ne otkrijem previse pogledajte sami...

    Unreal patch 2.17
    U novom patchu sredjen je izlazak sa ESC tipkom do glavnog menija, maknut je cd-check koji je uzrokovao nekim korisnicima mnoge probleme, sredjen je bug kod Voodoo Rush kartica pod nekin verzijama Glidea. Patch potrazite ovdje.

    Trenutno radim na malom Redesign-u sitea, mislim malo srediti design gornjeg djela site-a (ispod logoa), neke modifikacije su vec vidljive (najbolje vidljive sa IE 4.x, sa NC 4.x imam nekih problema oko spajanja tablica, no nadam se da cu vec nekako to srediti).
    Vec sam dobio neke prijedloge oko boja, tako da bi mi puno pomoglo ako znam sto vi mislite, jer vi odlucujete uostalom kakav cete design gledati :), tako da bi bilo vrlo zahvalan ako bi mi rekli sto mislite o trenutnom designu, mislim na shemu boja, headera, teksta, linkova, over linkova, tablica.

    Eto nije nas bilo od 21.09. do 24.09., naime trinity.cc site je mrtav :(, i tako ce i ostati, mi smo jos ovdje nekim cudom, a to je zato sto ce neki tip koristiti trinity.cc server za svoj osobni site :(, te je neizvjesno dali ce on ostaviti ili obrisati dir /croatian u kojem je nas site, mislim da je steta da neko otvori osobni site na dosada vaznoj adresi kao sto je trinity.cc.

    Mi cemo ostati na ovoj adresi koliko ce to biti moguce, tako da site jos uvijek mozete pronaci na ovoj adresi, naime ja trenutno pregovaram sa qarena.com o hostanju, a ako to nekim slucajem ne uspije pronasao sam par "Game site-ova" koji nude hostanje.

    Activision je izdao novi patch za Sin demo. Vise o tome procitajte u nastavku:

    "According to Sean Dunn, Activision's Producer on Sin, the Sin demo re-release is currently in the hands of the QA dept. here at Activision. Hoping to code release it today, the update to the demo contains bug fixes, the 16 bit software renderer and A3D support. There are two new DM levels: Spry (by Levelord), which is the one you may have heard about where you're really small in comparison to your surroundings, and the more traditional Q2 styled SinDM9 (by Patrick Hook). Hopefully (no promises, though!) later this afternoon, we'll be able to release both the full demo for those who haven't downloaded it yet, and a patch to the original Sin demo, which will be roughly 1/3 the size of the full download."

    Site Updates
    Updateao sam QA FAQ tako da je sada verzije 0.03, isto tako napravio sam neke male modifikacije na siteu.
    Anketa se pokazala uspjesnom, isto tako objavio sam rezultate Ankete-1 na koje mozete pronaci link gore u prozoru, ako imate prijedloga za anketu-2 javite mi se na mail ili icq.

    Lorduke je sredio probleme sa accom te vec radi na dovrsavanju QA Game Info-a, Game info mozete ocekivati negdje za 3-4 dana, jer ga ja moram kad bude gotov designerski doraditi.

    Trenutna situacija
    Ispricavam se zbog nedostatka updatesa, ja jednostavno nemam vremena da updateam site sa vijestima, kako lorduke ima problema sa svojim acc na Hinetu, onda ce vijesti pisati akisine i spoonman koji vec dugo nije pisao vijesti, a posto nema nikakvih vise vijesti o QA ni o ocekivanim FPSovima, nisu bili u mogucnosti updejtati site.

    Anketa se pokazala vrlo uspjesnom i ostati ce nasa stalna sekcija, ako imate prijedlog za anketu-2 posaljite mi mail na micek@trinity.cc

    Isto tako se ispricavam zbog ne slanja newslettera prosli vikend, naime zbog odredene situacije a i zbog nedostatka vremena nisam bio u mogucnosti napisati newsletter, tako da ga ocekujte ovaj vikend, sa cca 110 clanova.

    Izasao Quake2 v3.19
    Izasao je novi patch za Q2, koji donosi full VWep podrsku, itd..., mozete skinuti patcheve:

  • q2-319-x86.exe - updated to include the VWep files.
  • q2-319-vwep.exe - adds VWep support to last night's release.
  • q2-319-x86-full.exe - full update with VWep models and maps.
  • q2-319-x86-full-ctf.exe - full update with VWep, maps, and CTF files.

    J.Carmack je u svom .planu govorio o tome kako se QA nosi sa novim 3D karticama:
    I recently set out to start implementing the dual-processor acceleration
    for QA, which I have been planning for a while. The idea is to have one
    processor doing all the game processing, database traversal, and lighting,
    while the other processor does absolutely nothing but issue OpenGL calls.

    This effectively treats the second processor as a dedicated geometry
    accelerator for the 3D card. This can only improve performance if the
    card isn't the bottleneck, but voodoo2 and TNT cards aren't hitting their
    limits at 640*480 on even very fast processors right now.

    For single player games where there is a lot of cpu time spent running the
    server, there could conceivably be up to an 80% speed improvement, but for
    network games and timedemos a more realistic goal is a 40% or so speed
    increase. I will be very satisfied if I can makes a dual pentium-pro 200
    system perform like a pII-300.

    I started on the specialized code in the renderer, but it struck me that
    it might be possible to implement SMP acceleration with a generic OpenGL
    driver, which would allow Quake2 / sin / halflife to take advantage of it
    well before QuakeArena ships.

    QuakeArena benchmarks
    John Carmack je govorio o QA Benchmarksima u svom .plan-u:

    I just got a production TNT board installed in my Dolch today.

    The riva-128 was a troublesome part. It scored well on benchmarks, but it had
    some pretty broken aspects to it, and I never reccomended it (you are better
    off with an intel I740).

    There aren't any troublesome aspects to TNT. Its just great. Good work, Nvidia.

    In terms of raw speed, a 16 bit color multitexture app (like quake / quake 2)
    should still run a bit faster on a voodoo2, and an SLI voodoo2 should be faster
    for all 16 bit color rendering, but TNT has a lot of other things going for it:

    32 bit color and 24 bit z buffers. They cost speed, but it is usually a better
    quality tradeoff to go one resolution lower but with twice the color depth.

    More flexible multitexture combine modes. Voodoo can use its multitexture for
    diffuse lightmaps, but not for the specular lightmaps we offer in QuakeArena.
    If you want shiny surfaces, voodoo winds up leaving half of its texturing
    power unused (you can still run with diffuse lightmaps for max speed).

    Stencil buffers. There aren't any apps that use it yet, but stencil allows
    you to do a lot of neat tricks.

    More texture memory. Even more than it seems (16 vs 8 or 12), because all of the
    TNT's memory can be used without restrictions. Texture swapping is the voodoo's
    biggest problem.

    3D in desktop applications. There is enough memory that you don't have to worry
    about window and desktop size limits, even at 1280*1024 true color resolution.

    Better OpenGL ICD. 3dfx will probably do something about that, though.

    This is the shape of 3D boards to come. Professional graphics level
    rendering quality with great performance at a consumer price.

    We will be releasing preliminary QuakeArena benchmarks on all the new boards
    in a few weeks. Quake 2 is still a very good benchmark for moderate polygon
    counts, so our test scenes for QA involve very high polygon counts, which
    stresses driver quality a lot more. There are a few surprises in the current
    timings...

    Evo sto se kaze za podrsku 3dfx u Diablu II:

    Blizzard rocked the world on Sunday, and announced (and showed) brand new 3D gameplay inside of Diablo II. Head over to Diablo II.net for all the dope, including the news of... Blizzard have integrated 3DFX support in a slightly unconventional way. The game still remains sprit based but 3DFX is used to enhance the lighting and special effects, such as fog, during game play. It will also give you a better frame rate.

    I`m back
    Eto vratio sam se sa puta, vidim da je sa siteom sve kako bi trebalo biti, imali ste news svaki dan itd, zahvaljujem se Lorduke-u na ulozenom trudu vodenja sitea dok me nije bilo.

    QA Game info sekcija koju sam prepustio Lorduke-u bi trebala biti gotova za par dana.

    Uskoro bi se trebale dogoditi vazne stvari vezane za site, no o tome kad se to dogodi.

    Ovih dana nema nikakvih vijesti o QA, tako da se ispricavamo ako site nije updejtan svaki dan.

    Prvi Hrvatski FPS
    Konacno i da to docekamo. U nasoj maloj zemlji pocela je izrada prve hrvatske pucacine.U izradi skinova za likove u igri brine se i nas updater Spoonman. Za vise detalja o igri pogledajte na njihove stranice jer necete pozaliti. Samo se nadam da nece igra dobiti neki novo-hrvatski naziv :-)

    Tako je barem bilo razglaseno na Avaultovim stranicama.Drugi put bi mogli provjeriti vijest prije nego ju objave. Za one koji bas ne kuze dobro rijec je o takozvanoj novinarskoj patki ciji je cilj bio privuci sto vise posjetitelja na njihove stranice.

    QA botovi
    Intervju sa ljudima koji rade QA botove donio je zanimljiva opazanja. Donosimo vam samo najzanimljiviji dio toga intervju-a:

    NGS: Do you think this will cause a slow down in the production of Bots by the Quake community, or spur it on to try to out do the man himself, John Carmack? And will you produce a Bot for Quake:Arena?
    SY: Oh yeah, IF they do it right and allow us bit twiddlers the same access to the engine as the built in bots. If so, then I'm looking forward to doing a bot.
    JC: Depends how good their bots are, personally I`d have done a unreal bot except I simply can't be arsed learning another language simply for a year bot programming, especially when in Quake2 I can use my favourite language and all the powerful features it offers. Besides I belive John Cash is writing the bots not Carmack. I do plan to write a bot for Quake Arena, in fact I have already begun, it`ll be Oak III.
    SH: I think it will really get the creative juices flowing in the Bot community. Alot of discussion about the subject is already underway, and I think that it will have a postive impact on the entire scene. I am not sure if it will be in an attempt to "Outdo the man", but I think that it will provide a real source of focus to future projects. I don't make bots, I just play them. :)

    Eraser Bot
    Izasla je finalna verzija Eraser Bota (1.0) koji je mnogo bolji od prijasnjih verzija, uglavnom promjene su napravljene na polju ctf igre. Descent: FreeSpace - Silent Threat Expansion pack - Interplay je izjavio da su poceli raditi na novom packu za njihov hit Descent: FreeSpace koji bi trebao izaci prije kraja godine.

    OpenGL patch za Unreal
    Kao sto sam i najavio sredinom tjedna izasao je dugo cekani OpenGL patch za Unreal.Mozete ga skinuti sa 3Dfilesovih stranica.
    I ako ste ponosni vlasnik V2 kartice (kao i ja :-)) nemojte se nadati veliko pomaku od Glide verzije jer ima dosta bugova. Makar kazu da ce u drugoj verziji patcha biti svi ispravljeni.Zivi bili pa vidjeli.

    Eto dodao sam QA information, a QA game info cu zapoceti raditi za par dana.

    John Carmack .plan update
    J.Carmack je updejtao svoji .plan sa nesto informacija o QA:

    I added support for HDTV style wide screen displays in QuakeArena, so 24" and 28" monitors can now cover the entire screen with game graphics. On a normal 4:3 aspect ratio screen, a 90 degree horizontal field of view gives a 75 degree vertical field of view. If you keep the vertical fov constant and run on a wide screen, you get a 106 degree horizontal fov. Because we specify fov with the horizontal measurement, you need to change fov when going into or out of a wide screen mode. I am considering changing fov to be the vertical measurement, but it would probably cause a lot of confusion if "fov 90" becomes a big fisheye. Many video card drivers are supporting the ultra high res settings like 1920 * 1080, but hopefully they will also add support for lower settings that can be good for games, like 856 * 480.

    Eto, konacno sam nasao malo vise vremena da napravim ono sto sam vec prije htio napraviti, eto Site je od sada 95% na Engleskom, no vijesti su na Hrvatskom.

    IE 4.0x & Stuff
    Ispricavam se svim korisnicima IE 4.0x, naime na nekim stranicama koje su bile nanovno redesignirane dogodila se greska koja se pojavljuje samo u IE 4.0x, naime potpuno je zanemaren postav stranice, znaci sve ono sto koristi tag "body", a to je text, links, background, bg color itd., mislim greska je tako glupa da ju samo IE moze napraviti :), slucajno je kod "Copy/paste" operacije, taj tag (body bgcolor...) bio ispod samog "body" taga :), naravno IE jedini moze to tako shvatiti, recimo sve verzije NCa su ok prikazale stranicu, jos jednom se ispricavam, greska na: "staff, credits/awards, q3 .plan`s, links" stranicama je ispravljena te se sada one prikazuju "kako bi se trebale prikazati" :).

    Unreal Page
    Unreal page koji vodi Spoonman je updejtan, naime spoon ima nekih problema sa Home Siteom tako da nije mogao napisati update.

    Eto stavio sam random logo skriptu za logoe, tako da sada svaki put kad ucitate stranicu vidite drugi logo :), imao sam nekih problema u prilagodavanju skripte tako da ako vidite neke greske ili uopce ne vidite logo, javite mi na micek@trinity.cc .

    Isto tako ispricavam se sto sam rekao da je information dio gotov, naime nisam ga uspio zavrsiti zbog nedostatka slobodnog vremena, vjerojatno cu ga dovrsiti za par dana.

    Hollenshead o Quake III: Arena
    Todd Hollenshead, CEO od id Software, Inc. je ponovio ono sto je JCarmack prije rekao:

    Perhaps John didn't make this clear in his talk (I wasn't there), but Quake III Arena will most certainly *not* be multiplayer only. There will be a full feature single player game that will be a combat based multiplayer simulation. Certainly, the "deathmatch style" will be the focus of the game, but it's incorrect to say that you won't be able to play the game by yourself.

    U nedostatku svjezih vijesti dobra je i nesluzbena koja kaze da ce Quake Arena najvjerovatnije izaci u prvoj polovici 1999.godine Ali nemojte se previse uzdati u tu informaciju jer to je jos uvijek nesluzbena vijest.Ceka se sta na to kaze id Software i Activision.

    Doradio sam site, izbacio i dodao neke stvari na news stranicu, izbacio sam one tablice, koje nisu imale tako veliku svrhu, vise za design, tako da sada popis staffa mozete naci ako klicknete na "staff" u menu-u.

    Staff se jos nije vratio sa mora, nadam se da cu im se i ja uskoro pridruziti :), oni ce updejtati news postupno kada se budu vracali.

    Site je redesigniran, makar mislim da je prijasnji design bio bolji, no morali smo nesto zrtvovati od designa.

    Slijedeci tjedan pocinjemo s ozbilnjim poslom, naime sve stvari oko sitea su rijesene, sada je samo na staff-u da se dogovori i pocne sa redovitim updejtanjem sitea, pogledajte Credits page tamo su ispisani svi koji su do sada pomagali i pridonjeli svoji dio u razvitku naseg site-a.

    NEW Site Name
    Q3 je mrtav, zivjela Quake Arena :)), eto promijenili smo naziv kompletnog sitea u "Croatian Quake Arena Scene", trenutno se radi novi logo.

    Napravio sam novi Web Board, na kojem mozete pratiti ili zapoceti diskusije o aktualnim temama, uskoro ce Web Board biti usvojen od svih clanova Quake FaN CluB -a.

    Eto kao sto smo obecali konacno smo se preselili na jedan od najvaznijih siteova za "Svu Tehnologiju, igre iz IDa" na trinity.cc.

    Hostanje na trinity.cc moram zahvaliti Dragn -u koji nam je pruzio pomoc oko hostanja, te kaze da mu je cast hostati site na Hrvatskom jeziku, svaka cast, nakon par sitnih problema oko skripte za upload evo nas na novoj adresi:
